The "Jesus Revolution" and the Story of the Vineyard Webcast

The movie “Jesus Revolution” has created a lot of buzz this year with its beautiful retelling of the story of a move of the Holy Spirit in Southern California in the 1960s and 1970s that swept thousands of people into God’s Kingdom.

One of the central characters in the film – Lonnie Frisbee – also played a central role in the establishment of the Vineyard movement a decade later. In fact, there is a sense in which the movie “Jesus Revolution” is something like a prequel to the story of the Vineyard. While the movie is not telling the Vineyard story, its portrayal of the tensions in the relationship between Lonnie Frisbee and Chuck Smith definitely foreshadows the energy that would lead to the birth of the Vineyard movement.

On May 22nd, join church historian and Associate National Director of Theology and Education for VUSA, Dr. Caleb Maskell and some very special guests for a webcast that considers some of these dynamics, both historically and in their relevance for today.
